This painting is the next in a kind of diptych with "Her Light". [link]

First of all much appreciation for the reference pose which I got exclusive access too- I loved the stock photo so much this painting immediately popped into my head. The reference was from [link] by *Interludes so thankyou very much :)

I know the proportions aren't entirely accurate, especially her hands, but I kind of liked them that way so I didn't fix them, also the unfinished kind of look was intentional and part of the atmosphere of the whole painting.

The medium is oil on canvas and I am starting to get the hang of the mediums of oil paint which are so much different to plain old water that I use with acrylics. Measurements are about 115 x 100 cm.

A very beautiful and peaceful picture. I love the light and colors in it. I'd like to see her eyes more clearly, they seem too dark. Otherwise this is fantastic. :+fav:

I love the subtle, soft tones used in the painting, you've really caught some mystery in the image by doing that. The light blue in her dress is a nice sharp contrast. The stance of the figure suits it too, its appears both comfortable and awkward at the same time. I like this. I think all it needs is a little more texture, if you know what I mean. It needs to be brought to life just a little bit more.

Oh yay! I have been waiting so anxiously for this. But the wait was certainly worth it! This is really gorgeous. The colors are just perfect. Bringing the warm colors from the scenery behind her into her dress was brilliant. It does a perfect job of carrying the contrast between the warm and cool colors to the bottom of the piece. And the concept is just beautiful. I love how your work is so full of meaning and so open to interpretation. To me, it's like the forest is symbolic of her unconscious mind. She's been lost inside of it and in this deep slumber for so long, but finally, the light's breaking through to show her the way out. Gosh, I just can't tell you how much I love these colors! They're all so gorgeous together. And I'm really honored that our stock could inspire you and assist you in creating such a beautiful piece. Thank you so much. :hug:
