Hey! I’m Lee Pike, and I’m a painter working in Perth, Western Australia.

Most of the time, I work on canvas using oil, acrylic, various resins, glitter, and whatever else takes my fancy.

Art is a battle for me. In some ways, it comes very naturally and I find it easy to start anything and see where it takes me. In other ways, I am very self-critical and impatient so I have a hard time of it. There is a ‘conflict of clichés’ embedded in my work, and I like to explore and challenge feminine archetypes as a reflection of the self.

I like faeries and religious icons and neon colours and glitter and pop culture and witchcraft, so these things tend to appear in my work. The artists I most admire are the ones who were loathed by the critics of their time. Norman Lindsay and Manet are two such examples.

There’s a bit of chaos in everything I do.
